Prophets and How to Discern the True

Many believers don’t know how to test the spirits so they test the personality and the doctrines of the prophet.
But that is an unscriptural approach! For everyone will at some point disagree with the teaching of the others.

See what the apostle John says. For the stewardship is the fulcrum for testing.

1 John 4:1
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

The true prophet confirms God's words with fire (anointing) while the false prophets confirm only in word, zeal, and doctrinal trends, i.e. prosperity, money, health and power.

The true prophet confirmed the Record of the covenant while the false prophets affirm the present conditions to resolve with their own efforts.

1 Clement to the Corinthians 19:7-8
“...Moses set down in the Holy scriptures all things that were commanded him, whom also the rest of the prophets followed; bearing witness with one consent to those things that were appointed him.”

The true prophets confirm the covenant while the false prophets confirm their own doctrinal position and support system they affiliate with.

2 Chronicles 18:7
“And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla.”

As the prophet Isaiah said; Isaiah 8:20
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

Isaiah confirmed the covenant which God gave to Moses as the record for Israel to observe and obey. The testimony bears the sign which God gives to the true prophets. All the fathers being stewards had the testimony of God upon them also known as the anointing.

Today, the one speaking on God’s behalf confirms the new covenant record God put in Christ. This is witnessed by the fire (Spirit) which accompanied in both covenants. Examples:

1. God confirms with fire upon the tabernacle of Moses
2. God confirms with fire upon the sacrifice of Gedeon
3. God confirms with fire upon the offering of Manoah
4. God confirms with fire the sacrifice of David
5 God confirms the new Temple pattern through David to Solomon
6. God confirms the stewardship of Elijah upon mount Carmel
7. God confirms the Messiah with fire (dove) as the new Record covenant
8. God confirms the apostles stewardship and new covenant with tongues of fire

The God that Answers by Fire

We all know of God’s own test in the days of the prophet Elijah when he challenged the false prophets of Baal. The reason for this is that the people lost sight of the covenant and were therefore uncertain who the real prophets of God were. They were stuck, not able to discern. Take special note of verse 24, “the God that answereth by fire, let him be God.” So too is the true prophet the one who confirms the fire of God.

1 Kings 18:21-39

21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:

24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.

26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

28
And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.

31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

God still confirms His work at this present day in the true believers with the fire as the apostle says.

1 Corinthians 3:15
“If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

The true prophet is confirmed by the fire, speaking according to the tokens of God’s throne while the false prophets confirm tradition and the present psychology of the church. Both water and fire were represented in the first covenant in the altar and the bath.

John baptized with water fulfilling the righteousness of the law and the prophets of that first covenant, but announced that the new priesthood would be confirmed with fire and baptised Jesus.

Matthew 3:15
“And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.”

Those that bear the testimony of Christ walk with the sign of the anointing, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. For the doctrines of the traditions of the past, bear only the tokens of water (enemy of Christ) and God is restoring His House with His consuming fire purging the righteous with His fire-charity. Join us and partake of the fire of Christ’s altar.

Credibility of the Source

Acts 15:32
“And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.”

These prophets were not autonomous street ministers voicing their disapproval of religious and social issues. These prophets were fellowlabours with the apostles whose names are in the Lamb’s book of life.

Many believers become wandering voices instead of building the Body of Christ. The true prophets confirm what the apostles teach. Join us today.

The Truth About Toxins
Spiritually speaking the human diet is not good regarding the truth of conflict and the battles of the soul. For the habit of life and the signature of the soul play into Satan’s hands for him to craft a prejudice in your perceptions about God and His care for you. The suffering of this world is engrafted by the habits of life and then once converted into the covenant one would think those things are gone which oppressed you to begin to seek the Lord for deliverance and to know Him.
