The Sword Restored to The Church

Proverbs 27:17 states that “Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend”. It is a popular quote that is often fudged to mean that “your metal” is being tested to see what you are made of. Here is where it gets interesting though, as God does test the metal of your faith to see what it is made of. Did you notice the distinction I just made? Most people don’t catch it. God is not testing what YOU are made of, but what IT (your faith) is made of. If your faith is reflective of self, then your faith is not the gold of Christ’s work.

When in the false religious system, the common practice is for a person to sharpen their aspiration (wooden sword) with those who also have wooden swords of aspiration. They would best each other in many kinds of battles. And from these bouts of sword play claim some new tidbit that stood out to them (as the nature of man is prone to do). But this is not iron sharpening iron is it? It’s the aspiration of man being sharpened against the aspiration of man. And this wooden sword of the aspiration does not abide the testing of fire.

Are you Being Equipped From the New Apostolic Refinery?

God is now working through the new apostolic breed and measure of grace to make known the true metal (truth) of Jesus Christ. The sword of truth has been forged anew in the refinery of truth and now mass distribution has begun. All believers are being equipped from the new apostolic refinery. Check your sheath. Are you carrying the sword of aspiration or have you been refitted with the sword of truth?

I want you to know about the pureness of the metal of your sword, so later in this article we’ll talk about the essential elements that make up God’s truth that He poured into your sword. This will help to better understand the relation between truth and stewardship and why truth is your defense and stewardship is your refuge. But first, let’s lay the groundwork in revelation.

We’ll look at a prophetic dream for the 2015 new year and prophetic teaching whose tracks of prophecy were spoken of by the Spirit many years ago through Tommy Hicks.

The Sword Restored to the Church: Prophetic Dream and Word for 2015

God’s mind to restore the sword of truth to the church was again revealed in a prophetic dream shared by Prophet Eric Seel on December 31, 2014:

“At 4Am this morning I had a very vivid dream of a banquet hall with Apostle Eric vonAnderseck at the head of a presentation table. At the tables, waiting for the presentation were the patriarchs and apostles, prophets of the old and the early Church. A man who I did not recognize stood up at the table, He was wearing a Gold robe and He said, ‘All hail the deliverance one’ and then he handed Apostle Eric a silver sword. He said for direction and revelation to the Church in these the last of days."

Before Prophet Seel shared this dream with me, I had preached a New Year’s Eve message at 2:00 that afternoon. A large portion of the teaching focused on God restoring the sword to the church. We’ll look at a few of those points the Spirit is bringing to our attention.

Teaching Excerpt: The Sword of the Lord

Greetings. You may open your bible to Matthew chapter 10. We'll be starting there to get into an exhortation as we pray in and are living in expectation of this new year that is coming up. As we're working up to celebrate this new time and new season concerning the church, called the Second 8th Week.

We're going to start our study in Matthew chapter 10 and then jump to Judges chapter 7 and we're going to see some interesting things there and then talk about some things in Ephesians chapter 6 concerning the sword of the Lord.

The Sword of the Lord And the Season of Testing

Matthew 10;31, “Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Jesus says, “fear not”. Which means, don't withdraw from faith. This is your life. Jesus said in another place, “Whosoever shall confess me before men him will I also confess before my father which is in heaven.” So Jesus, speaking to the first century Jews, is merely addressing them saying this, "Whosoever therefore shall confirm my stewardship at this present time, now, before these men, him will I confess and make known in prayer before My Father which is in heaven.”

Jesus goes on to say, "Whosoever will deny me before men”. He is speaking of those who sought to undermine His work then, in that season of testing. The church is right now in a season of testing called the Second 8th Week very similar to the testing of that first century when Jesus was establishing the pattern in the First 8th Week.

So the First 8th Week was a time of testing and the changing of the season as we can see also unfolding in the Second 8th Week, this time of unfolding and the changing of the seasons from the 6th Week to the Second 8th Week, which upon the conclusion, we enter into the 7th Week (tribulation). But we will not be here for the 7th week. We'll be taken in the rapture.

The Sword of the Lord is Not the Sword of Aspiration

Matthew 10:34, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.”

Here Jesus is saying, “Don't muse about my presence and power to resolve national issues and the martial law of the Romans.” That is what they wanted. Many of the unconverted wanted Jesus to establish a kingly presence in order to cast off the yoke of the Romans. They wanted to see Israel enter into another golden age as it was in the days of Solomon.

Jesus was saying, “I did not come to establish a reputation as some kind of Greek hero. Nor to fight as your king, as king David, but to establish a record by which you will rule over all sin.”

So, “Think not that I am come to bring peace on the earth, to resolve all your national issues. I came not to send peace, that is, in this first 8th week, to reign as Solomon, but a SWORD.”

So highlight the word sword and we'll be talking about the sword. We see also in Enoch, "A sword shall be given to it" for the purpose of establishing righteousness and also overcoming the sinner. At the same time we are building the house of God. Jesus said that and we're doing that. God is again returned the sword to the church through the stewardship. By the function of your priesthood you are ruling over sin. You are ruling over the kingdom of darkness. And that is why he says ,"but a sword" because my truth shall destroy Satan's seat.

And we can see this written to the 7 churches of Asia (Rev. 2:13). So this is the sword Jesus is talking about and this is the sword apostle Paul was talking about in Ephesians 6:17... "The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." This knowledge which I am speaking to you is for the purpose of identifying and confirming the eternal Word. The divine nature. The entity of Christ.

But a sword... “I am come to set a man at variance against his father”. That is strange isn't it? That is the very opposite of what they are looking for. And we can see this in the false religious system today. They want to unite all the many different fractures of doctrine without truth. They want a united front without truth. That is what they want.

They want to resolve religious issues by including everything and Jesus said, I did not come down come to resolve your religious issues. I came to give you a sword. And this sword has to do with your redemption. Do you agree with this or not. And of course many of them disagreed. But also many did agree as we see on the day of Pentecost.

Matthew 10:35, “For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law."

“I am come to set a man at variance” which means that my presence will cause division as we see today. Religious conflict in your family and traditions. And the daughter (one that is converted) shall be set against her mother (the roots of her traditions).

Jesus was saying, As I experienced this, as Abraham and David also experienced, so he that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. Meaning, he that expresses these powers or these family traditions more than me (who am the key and faith) is not worthy of me nor worthy of my gifts. And he that loves son or daughter more than me (my kingdom) is not worthy of me. He is not competent of my fellowship because you seek to murder me.

Verse 38... “And he that takes not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."
He that takes not his cross" that means he refuses the yoke of this suffering concerning this division and accepting this sword. He that does not take up his cross to follow after me and accepts the record that I give, is not worthy of me or my gifts or the blessing of Abraham.

The Abrahamic sign of our worthiness... the joy. The joy of the Lord, not the joy of the aspiration, nor the fulfillment of the aspiration. Not the completion of the aspiration. but the joy of the Lord. The completion that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. So therefore he says “is not worthy of me”.

Verse 39… “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.”
“He that finds his life shall lose it” what Jesus is saying is that he that finds the joy of the aspirations of this life in the signature of man shall lose all these powers upon death. But he that abandons the boast of man for the powers of faith shall discover the true treasures in the soul. So he that finds his life shall lose it and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.

The Sword of the Lord and of Gideon

Now let's go to the book of Judges to see the revelation Gideon received. Now we see in Judges chapter 7 a man that was selected by God to carry out the tradition of stewardship and faith.

Judges 4:13-14, “And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.”

14. “And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.”

Verse 13... "there was a man that told a dream...."
There was a guard on the outside by the guard post. Gideon and his servant crept up to where they could see the guards and they were listening to their conversation. Again, God is confirming His plan. He is affirming these things by giving this man a dream.

"behold I dreamed a dream"
Interesting that this person was not converted. So God can use the unconverted to confirm His plan. As he did with Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, or as he did with Abimelech and Laban. God gave dreams to the unsaved, which of course confirmed what His plan was.

"behold I dreamed a dream....."
Highlight the words "barley bread" because we are talking about the truth of the Lord. Jesus was also speaking of the truth and the truth which he was going to give was going to bring division ... a sword. This cake of barley bread was rolling and it rolled inside the camp. It tumbled into the host of Midian and came to a tent and knocked it down and smote it that it fell and overturned it. And his servant answered and said, “This is the sword of Gideon.”

Highlight the word “sword”. We see the sword of the stewardship here. The sword of the stewardship is going to bring deliverance to his people. Deliverance to Israel. We can see the same thing today. The sword of the Second 8th Week is going to remove the yoke of oppression of false knowledge and at the same time start building the house of God. So it is the sword as flame and charity.

A New Dawning

It's interesting here that Gideon divides his army of 300 men into companies of 3. The number 3 talks about a new dawning. We are in the 3rd day of power and the 7th day of time. The 7th day concerning the 7,000 years. That is the 7 days of time and the 3rd day has to do with the dawning of a new day.

We see even in the book of Revelation that every time a new chapter began they also initiated a new song. And they sang a new song unto the Lord and of the Lamb. That was announcing the time of season and change. So we see the number of change announcing the time of season and change, removing the yoke of the oppression of the Midianites and bringing restoration and bonding and building in Israel.

The Pitcher is Broken and the Trumpet Sounds

Gideon divided the 300 men into 3 companies and he put a trumpet in every man's hand. Highlight the word “trumpet”. This reminds me of the sound of the trumpet that took place in Mossel Bay, South Africa when I was there in 2010. This sounded from heaven to announce the assembly of the righteous. The trumpet was being sounded, announcing the assembly and it resonated all over the world.

Judges 7:16-18
16. "And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.

17. And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.

18. When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon."

And then he says... "with an empty pitchers and lamp within ..." the light was concealed in the pitcher. The pitcher represented the flesh. When we are crucified with Christ, the light that is within the vessel begins to shine forth. When the light shines forth the darkness is removed, dispelled.

Verse 17…" look on me” highlight that. Gideon was saying, "Follow the stewardship and follow this example."

As the apostle Paul also said, "Be follows of me as I am of Christ." So here we can see that Gideon said "look on me." Gideon had the revelation given him by the angel. We see that many confirmations were provided for him to give him confidence. So he was strengthened with all might. The revelation, the token of the revelation, the gift that was provided for him through the angel even as the fleece, the wringing out of the water from the fleece. These were tokens that were strengthening him.

The Stones of Gideon’s Prophetic Path

He could put faith in that. And he did put faith in that. And that is what we do. That was part of the stones of Gideon's prophetic path. So the stones which were given to Gideon and his prophetic path are still reverent for us today. We are still walking in that same way. That is the way of the Lord. The prophetic path. So he said unto them, "Look on me" (stewardship) and do likewise.

A Little Bit of the Anointing Defeats the Strongholds of Satan

Now we are going to the book of Ephesians 6:16, "Take on the whole armor of God..."
The armor is that which we have given to us of God, as the vestments of our priesthood. And the Apostle Paul enumerates them (the whole armor of God) as we continue to vest ourselves with these things we are able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Just like Gideon overcame enormous odds against him.

There were millions of Midianites and all that Gideon had was 300 men. But a little bit of the anointing went further than what they had thought. Do you see what the anointing did? The anointing gave the 300, the small group of people, it gave them the confidence of the revelation in order to defeat the strongholds of Satan and that is what we are doing today.

By the anointing of the Spirit we are defeating Satan's strongholds. We are removing the yoke of his wiles from the minds of the people. So here we see in verse 17,"Take the helmet of salvation." because we are removing the yoke from the mind.

False knowledge is the yoke on the mind and when the yoke is upon the mind so is that perception. The false religious system has the perception of Satan. The perception of Satan is to stand independent of God and to establish a strong hold of thinking or doctrinal thinking.

Doctrinal thinking is a strong hold. That stronghold is build with many stones of text in order to lend support to that perception. You can see that with the many independent ministry voices. They built a stronghold by the selection of scripture and each stone that they used was put into the wrong path. It was the broad way, not the straight and narrow, but the broad and wide gate.

So take the helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit. The sword of the Lord has to do with building and conquering an invisible enemy, an invisible kingdom. The mind cannot conceive it. Because the eye cannot see it, the mind cannot conceive it. The eye of the flesh cannot see this invisible kingdom.

But we can see it because you can see that invisible kingdom in the manifestation of the knowledge they are speaking from... the tether of Satan, and so as the Spirit gives us this sword we are able to remove the tethering, the false tethering. A circumcision takes place. A circumcision of one's thinking and of one's perception.

This is what God is restoring at this time. God is restoring the sword to the church for the purpose of removing that false tether and establishing the house of God.

Tommy Hicks’ Revelation

The Spirit of the Lord took Tommy Hicks up into the atmosphere to see the vision of the progression of the church towards the fulness of Christ in these end times, where the face of Christ would be seen.

Hicks saw the Body of Christ as a sleeping giant, covered in filth and the debauchery of darkness, needing to be cleansed. He stated, “Suddenly, every cloud became silver, the most beautiful silver I have ever known… And from those clouds suddenly there came great drops of liquid. . . Liquid drops of light began to flood the very earth itself. . .”

And as he watched further he saw “this liquid light seemed to flow from [Jesus’] hands into them”.

I want to help you make the connection between the silver sword seen in Prophet Seal’s dream to this liquid silver flowing from Jesus’ hands in Hicks’ vision. The connection here is to truth. Truth flows from Jesus to His church through His apostles. Without truth the church cannot awaken. Without truth the church cannot be cleansed, has no life and has not sword. It is as simple as that.

Hicks later says of this movement of the Spirit “is with power and the anointing”. Meaning that, he hadn’t experienced this in his current ministering about outpourings, healing and miracles. This is something set apart.

Hicks further stated that he saw many of his contemporaries, those he thought to be solid ministers of the Lord, reject this wind of the Spirit and it confounded him.

Demystifying the Sword of Truth

We have to demystify the sword of the Spirit. Paul does so by calling the sword “the Word of God”. It is no accident that truth is your defense and that God called and commissioned apostles to administer truth as a foundation in the heart from which we build faith.

We can see the duties of an apostle do not stop there. Apostles also oversee the distribution and purity of truth, that truth remains consistent to God’s character, purpose and plan. You will never be able to serve God or defend the faith unless the foundation of truth is first laid within your heart and thus equipped with the sword of the Spirit.

Your sword is made of the precious metal of Christ’s truth and the fire of the Spirit who attends upon truth as its witness.

An interesting thing about silver that God designed into the natural world. Fine silver (99.9% pure) is too soft to use in jewelry or almost anything else because it bends, breaks, and stretches too much. An alloy (a mixture of two or more metals) is added to silver to obtain desirable qualities such as hardness, lightness, and strength.

In the false religious system, truth is commonly mixed with aspiration, imagination and moral code of man, thought to give desirable qualities to the sword of truth. But these admixtures of iniquity are what seducing spirits feed upon and the end result is that truth was poisoned with false knowledge. And the church made to drink of this poison feel into a deep sleep.

I want you to think about truth anew. We’re going to look at the 12 elements of the gospel to see what each element contributes to the strength of your faith. The 12 elements of the gospel are:

The sword of truth is forged with these 12 essential elements. Each element is designed to perfectly represent the work of Christ in your soul. God uses the elements of the gospel to allow you to see the flow of His Spirit from grace to faith, from sanctification to holiness, from charity to truth. Nothing of Christ is missing and nothing of man is added.

With this sword you can defend yourself against every wile of the devil: self justification, the charity of the moral code (which God abhors), the voice of aspiration the devil presents as the voice of God and change that is worked out through the natural man to rival true regeneration by the Spirit.

As there is no other foundation that can be laid, but Jesus Christ, there are no other elements that can be added or taken away from truth. If the metal used to forge your sword is mixed with aspiration, the imagination, or the moral code of man, you would not know the difference between the voice of God and the voice of the instinct of man that works with the signature of man which the spirit of this world exploits.

The Bride of Christ Distinguished

After the wind of the Spirit is received and after the cleansing of truth takes place, Hicks hears this proclamation, "Now this is my people. This is my beloved bride." Meaning, that Jesus is making a sober distinction. He does not take ownership of the sleeping giant in need of awakening and cleansing as those who refuse His stewardship and as those who refuse the anointing of truth. These are not my people.

Jesus Represents you Before the Throne of God

When your faith is founded upon the firm foundation of truth built by the 12 essential elements of the gospel, then Jesus will mediate the covenant for you. That means He will represent you before the throne of God.

We cannot represent ourselves before the throne of God. Jesus must represent us. We cannot draw near to God in our own person, Jesus must be the door. We cannot find our own way to God, Jesus is the bridge. As the mediator of the covenant, Jesus uses knowledge as a bridge to God.

This is something people know deep down inside, that they are insufficient and unworthy of God and that is why they look for a proxy to represent them. Be it their talents or good works, intelligence, a scriptural view point, or money, or desire for global influence, they look for something to represent their value, to shield how vulnerable they are without God. If it is money they are using as a proxy, they say, “This stands for me.”

If it is their intelligence then they are using knowledge to establish their authority, that they are using knowledge as a proxy, saying, “This stands for me.” But knowledge left to the imagination is an illusion. We can see why God resists the proud. He established the knowledge He would work with for man’s salvation.

If we stand in our own person we stand condemned. There is nothing of man that is worthy of God, nothing of man that God needs or wants, no proxy that is sufficient. This is why God came in the flesh to provide Himself as the token, or proxy, to stand on our behalf, as the mediator of the covenant.

The purpose of Jesus being our proxy is that God would say, “Your faith must be equal to me.” This is why He said, “Be ye holy for I am holy” (1 Pet.1:16). The apostolic metal stands up to this test.

Join us today and begin to build His House.
