Standing for the Truth in an Age of Unbelief and Apostasy-Part 2

Important difference between fundamental knowlege and foundaton knowledge. In this 4 part series we are looking at 4 different places where Satan hides unbelief and then we are seeing how apostasy takes place when by denying faith the likeness of Christ. These are 4 primary theaters of spiritual conflict where Satan battles for the mind.

Part 1 – Do you believe in absolute moral truth or the absolute truth of Jesus Christ? Do you know the difference between the two?

Our disambiguation of moral truth and the truth of Jesus Christ set the truth apart to Him. We learned that the moral code is the measure of a man, while faith is the measure of Jesus Christ.

If it were not for the restoration of stewardship in the church Satan would have destroyed the church with the moral code.

Part 2 – Do you believe the fundamental knowledge of Jesus Christ or the foundation knowledge of Jesus Christ? Do you know the difference between the two?

Part 3 – Do you believe reciprocation is by the flesh or by the Spirit. Do you know the difference between the two?

Part 4 – Do you believe what you want about God, Jesus Christ, and salvation or do you believe God chose one doctrine of Christ? Do you know the difference between the two?

Do you believe the fundamental knowledge of Jesus Christ or the foundation knowledge of Jesus Christ?

If you have never heard about the difference between the fundamental knowledge of Jesus Christ and the foundation knowledge of Jesus Christ you are not alone. Millions of Christians do not know the difference between the two. Let’s define each and then talk about what makes them different. And more importantly, why it is easy for Satan to overthrow your faith if all you are building your faith upon is the fundamental knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Fundamental Knowledge of Jesus Christ

The fundamental knowledge of Jesus Christ is the history of His conception, birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem. Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead. Jesus is the Son of God, our Savior. These facts of history cannot be disputed and all true Christians believe these things without reserve.

But when we talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ and the knowledge by which you must be saved, we are talking about a different kind of knowledge base. The kind of knowledge you build with.  Building faith with knowledge may not be something that you are used to hearing. What does that mean?

The Moral Code of Man
New teaching about the moral code of man unlocks the mystery of the carnal nature.
Explaining this is like peeling an onion. We need to get to one layer at a time to do a good job at disambiguating the fundamental knowledge from the foundation knowledge. First of all, while faith is many things, most importantly, it is the means by which we express the likeness of Christ. When I talk about the likeness of Christ I do not mean to be like Jesus as you might been taught by the moral code, to try to act out His character. I mean that we are to express the likeness of Christ according to His divine power. We do this by renewing our minds with His knowledge.

We need to continue to understand the difference between the moral code and the truth of Jesus Christ. A good way to understand the difference between the moral code and the truth of Jesus Christ is to compare an actual living tree to the shadow a tree casts upon the ground. The living tree is that which has substance, grows, and produces leaves and fruit. The shadow looks like the tree, it carries the image, but there is no substance to the shadow. We are going to call the substance the likeness of the tree. The power of the tree is not in the image it casts upon the ground, it is in the likeness, the substance of the tree produces, the ability of the tree to propagate.

Because we know the difference between the shadow and the tree we would not dream of trying to pluck fruit from the shadow. We know which image is living and it is easy to make that distinction.

Will the Real Jesus Please Stand up!

It is difficult, though, for Christians to discern which one is the real Jesus, the moral code or the record of His truth (we are now getting at the layer of the moral code in this onion we are peeling). So what happens is that Christians try to draw from the moral code to prove their faith has substance. They draw from the image of goodness, or morality, or kindness that the moral code is casting on the ground, thinking that this is Jesus.

Where did the church begin to have difficulty discerning the difference between the moral code and the record of Jesus Christ? When did this apostasy take place where Christians departed from the record of Christ to embrace the record of the moral code?

Christians were born into this state of apostasy. The instruction about how to operate with the moral code is standard Christian indoctrination. Believers accepted the apostate doctrine as truth and never detected its true nature. But just as an onion gives off the evidence of its presence by that sweet aroma that reaches our nose, the presence of the moral code in faith also announces its presence. Not only does the moral code fail to nourish the soul, its fruits are poisonous.

The Seduction of the Moral Code
Many Christian answers about the connection between the moral code and the battle for the mind.
I know we all, at one time, trusted the moral code to be a sound guide and teacher. We have to get to the point of seeing unbelief staring back at us when we look at the moral code; for when a person embraces the moral code for faith it is because they do not believe in the knowledge, covenant, tools, priesthood, and stewardship of Jesus Christ. There is no other reason why a person would accept the moral code in place of Jesus Christ.

So the problem with unbelief and apostasy is that a person does not believe what God wants them to believe about Jesus Christ, which seems funny since we already said that Christians do believe in the fundamental facts about Jesus Christ. So what is it that they do not believe? They do not believe the foundation knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Foundation Knowledge

Faith needs a base of knowledge from which to work properly. For example, if a person asked you if you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, you would say, Yes. But if you are asked about God’s definition for faith, how it is to be expressed, how it works with grace, and why faith needs a covenant you would answer these questions according to the foundation of truth laid in your heart.

While the fundamental knowledge states facts that are true about Jesus Christ, the foundation knowledge sets order to faith by using the 12 Elements of the Gospel to describe the likeness of Jesus for your faith to labor with Him. The 12 Elements of the Gospel are the building blocks for faith.

A person might ask, “If I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for my sins, isn’t that faith?” If that faith is drawn by the grace of God then, yes, God accepts your faith. However, He did not plan for your faith to stop at illumination. God planned for you to enter into covenant with Him so that the healing of your soul can take place.

True Faith expresses the likeness of Christ. This is why God gave us the 12 Elements of the Gospel. Faith has to go beyond the history of Christ and go beyond illumination and reach into the mystery of Christ.

Simply put, we need the same mind that God has about Jesus Christ and how the image of Christ is formed in the inner man. Questions about the difference between the defiled conscience and the purged conscience is settled by foundation knowledge not the fundamental knowledge. You need to know how the Elements justification and sanctification work with truth and charity to experience the purged conscience.

If your faith cannot make those distinctions is will be very easy for Satan to slip the moral code into your box of faith tools and pretty soon you will be measuring Christ by the moral code again. What that means is that questions of faith and questions of conscience will be answered by the moral code instead of the building blocks of Christ.

Making it Easy to See…

Let’s make it easy to see the importance of the foundation knowledge by looking at what Jesus said:

1. Jesus said: No many can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon,” (Matthew 6:24).

Without proper instruction how would you know how to serve God? God identified the  priesthood as the way in which we are to serve Him. This is the Christian doctrine taught by Apostle Peter (2 Peter 2:5,9). If a believer did not have this foundation teaching they would serve mammon. That means they would feed the hunger of their faith with aspiration thinking they are doing God service.

What did we learn: Faith needs knowledge to direct it away from aspiration (mammon) and towards the living God. That will happen when you learn the 12 Elements of the Gospel.

2. Jesus said: “He that finds His life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it,” Matthew 10:39.

To lose your life for the sake of Christ calls for a separation. Without proper instruction you would not have the knowledge to separate yourself from the world unto God. If the  circumcision takes place by the hand of the moral code, it will be for the honor of man. So there is a lot of spiritual discernment that needs to take place and proper tools you need. If the moral code is doing the cutting then you are not losing your life for Jesus’ sake you are losing your life for the convenience of the moral code. God does not call that action faith because the likeness of Christ is not in it.

What did we learn: Faith’s actions need faith’s knowledge and tools for the likeness of Christ to be seen.

Finally, a person can pour a lot of zeal into preserving their faith in the history of Jesus and assign to that history the doctrine of man and mistake their zeal for fervent love of God. This carries on a little more. The fact that the fundamental facts are correct somehow gets transferred onto their doctrine, which is also assumed to be correct. It’s like false knowledge rides on the coat tails of fundamental knowledge. One does not see their unbelief because they belief the fundamental knowledge of Christ, but do not believe the foundation knowledge of Christ.

Satan hides unbelief by hiding it in the moral code. Apostasy takes place when faith is denied the likeness of Christ by placing it in the moral code.

Disambiguation: The fundamental knowledge of Jesus Christ confirms the facts of His divine nature, birth, death, and resurrection, but strong faith is not built upon these facts alone. We need all 12 Elements of the Gospel to build a strong foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.

It is in these stones of knowledge that the likeness of Christ emerges in strength of grace, purity of conscience, the circumcision of the heart, the perfect measure of Christ, the fruits of His holiness, the priesthood of His covenant whereby the new man is exercised in righteousness.

Standing for the Truth in an Age of Unbelief and Apostasy-Part 3
Do you believe reciprocation is by the flesh or by the Spirit? Do you know the difference between the two? That is the focus of part 3 in this series Standing for the Truth in an Age of Unbelief and Apostasy. We are talking about the apostasy of the church of Christ and the need to get back to the truth. So, let’s look at reciprocation and learn what it means to God and how Satan twisted it to teach us a faith that is removed from God.   more...
Why the Church is Confused
Much of today's teaching in the church is very confusing. There are now 38,000 Christian denominations whereas just a few years ago there were only 33,000 Christian denominations. God refers to one Spirit and one truth! There is time to reverse the damage Satan did to your faith.   more...
Paul Planted Apollos Watered- I Planted my Own Garden
Ever since God called upon Adamites to be responsible to His covenant He selected individuals to represent His kingdom. It is simple to understand that even though His choice of servants may possess frailties as Samson, David, Jephthah, Gideon and others in the book of Hebrews 11, yet God has always supervised the direction and substance of faith. It is a marvel to see how the Lord navigates around the standards of the gainsayers and makes the wisdom of man foolish. Satan knows that without stewardship the church has no eyes to see nor understanding of the order of His kingdom.   more...
The New Covenant is the Right Choice

When The Imagination Becomes Your Priesthood
Beware of the snares of the imagination Satan uses to feed the soul folly to fight the plan of God today. When religious people use the scales of the flesh to measure truth, the feelings about truth will always shift into the gears of their own logic. Such a perception will stand opposed to the kingdom of God and the spirit of the Pharisee will emerge again to smite Christ and mock His plan. The imagination muses in wonder and will perish in the application as the fowls of the air will devour the Word they hear but not assess as the true peril of great price.   more...
Remembrance: Dead Faith and Careless Revelations
The torment of unbelief causes withdraw from His grace to set a different pattern for the Christian walk. This contrariness will resist the oversight of government in the fear of losing their own free-will of doctrinal choice and practice. When God communicates in dreams and visions to correct or circumcise corrupt traditions these not functioning inside the House of God will use revelations to the point of fables to justify their independent position severed from the true Vine our Lord Jesus Christ. In this state they are not keeping in remembrance those godly admonitions of the stewardship and will fall away not from their traditions but from His sanctification which will blot out their names from the book of Life.   more...
Dirty Faith: An Unclean Religion And Unsanctified Hope
To be crucified with Christ we must first bear His mark of ownership beginning with the seal for our obedience of faith. True sanctification is tethered to the Father and the Son. Jesus sets the record straight
