Eye opening chart illustrates God’s method of church government, the work of the ministry, and Body ministry. The government of God operates much like a machine. Each part has their place in the machinery of God’s kingdom. The kingdom of God is the name, system, and power of Jesus Christ. Just as fuel powers an engine, so grace powers God’s kingdom. Grace is first given to the apostles to make known the mystery of Christ to the church. The apostles instruct the other callings: the prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, which in turn help the apostles instruct the church in one doctrine of Christ. Each member of the Body also receives grace from God, but in a different measure. The grace given to each member is to build upon what the foundation knowledge, not to change or add to the foundation. (Ephesians 4:11) (1 Peter 4:10)
The illustration further defines the vital role of the Elements of the Gospel in the operation of God’s kingdom, as they are seen to run through the machine. This helps to explain the importance of learning the ABC's of the covenant and the operation of the Christian priesthood. It is through your priesthood that you receive grace from God to share with your brethren.
