Religious passion or anointing
How Religious Zeal Replaces the Anointing
By Apostle Eric vonAnderseck

What is the anointing? Who has it and who doesn’t? How has the devil masked the flesh in a false anointing that has deceived the church for decades? Will you come out from under that spell in time?

In these days of renewal to the true covenant for which Jesus shed His blood, God is redefining the anointing according to the original pattern of Jesus and His apostles. God addressed the many ways the anointing is abused and misunderstood in the message I preached on June 21, 2015. That teaching is now available to you as a downloadable mp3 recording. In a Chrome browser click the link “How Religious Zeal Replaces the Anointing”. The teaching below will also help you.

False Anointings and False Hubs

These days believers are again asking how the Christian faith should be perceived and lived. For a long time ministers believed that God had called them each to decide for themselves what truth is. What grew out of this lopsided philosophy was many independent hubs which were not joined to Christ.

Did you know: There is only ONE hub and His name is Jesus.

Under the open-independent stewardship umbrella, a minister would claim God’s sanctification upon thousands of differing and conflicting truths because they needed to be OK with the  troubling reality they lived. As each found common ground in one issue or another they allowed a network to develop between them and they envisioned this to be many hubs being joined together.

God identified this deception as feigned unity and a oneness that is deceitful in that Christ is being denied in His covenant knowledge, stewardship, and priesthood.

It is customary to justify this outrageous conflict of interest by professing to be a seeker of truth. One would claim the Bible to be the infallible word of God while at the same time walk in his own way. I am reminded of the verse in Deuteronomy 12:8, “Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.”

Each “revelation” received was thought to evidence a humble seeking heart. A minister would say, “I don’t have the truth, but I’m seeking God for it and this is what I believe He spoke to me.” In this way ignorance was passed off as normal Christianity and the devil could justify a life-long false and empty journey in search of truth.

You can’t get very far down this dirty road without seeing the need to claim the power of God to justify your wandering in the wilderness. There is a specific catchword that is used to try to put all these stray feelings and ideas into one hopeful bag to hold onto them as God-ordained – God-justified – God-sanctified. That word is anointing.

You’ll hear the word “anointing” thrown around a lot in a very haphazard way as a blanket to cover the nakedness of the soul in the absence of the presence and true power of God. If one can claim the anointing is on them then what they say is not questioned.

The Anointing Verses Passion

When a believer comes out of the false church the first thing they learn is how to use the tools of Jesus’ covenant to receive the grace of God. The grace of God is very tangible. You don’t have to go to a special meeting to experience it. You don’t have to call it down. And no, it doesn’t come through laughter. Passion and grace are confused only in the hearts of the unconverted believer.

Unconverted Believer: One who believes in Jesus but is not yet converted to Him. Meaning, is not yet joined to Christ by covenant and therefore his faith is not sealed and God has not taken ownership of his soul. In this vulnerable position a person is easily led astray and builds faith upon many false foundations.

In the absence of the daily experience believers are meant to have with the grace of God, you’ll hear confusing messages like this: “Jesus meant for truth in the heart to awaken passion in the heart. But how to get it there!”

When apostles are not setting order to the knowledge of Christ then human passion not only gets confused with grace, but one has to cover up this error by calling passion the anointing of God. We hear it all the time, “The anointing is all over me! I feel the anointing powerfully! The presence of God fell down on this place!”

As believers are now returning to the pure language of truth, and as I just mentioned, learning how God issues grace on a daily basis, this false usage of the anointing is not only undesirable, but easy to spot. The flesh has a way of speaking about the anointing that is different from the Spirit.

Here are a few more examples of how the flesh speaks of the anointing:
-- how to get a fresh anointing
-- getting a powerful anointing
-- how to get more of the anointing
-- anointed prayer
-- the gifts and the anointing
-- how to move in the anointing

How the Anointing Got Hot Wired to the Flesh

The apostles never told the church to pray for the anointing. This idea was extrapolated from a few scriptures by a system that is absent of the anointing to try to create an experience and then market that experience as revival, to artificially pump life into a failed system.

The word “anointing” is used in the false church to freely express what a person imagines and to justify anything they feel a strong conviction about, shielding religious aspirations behind the word anointing.

Typically an outspoken person steps forward and speaks passionately about breakthrough, promises, naming and claiming things in the name of Jesus. And because this excites the senses of the natural man, they’ll say to h/her, “If the Spirit moves upon you, go ahead and say what you feel, we believe God is speaking through you.”

This improvisation works well with envisionation. Ministers are bred in the false church to do this. A minister feels he is moving by the Spirit when giving himself over to the spirit of this world. The spirit of antichrist uses passion as a tool to justify aspiration. Ministers use the word anointing to justify any selected aspiration to appear to be in tune with the will of God.

Is something important missing here? Yes. Truth is missing. The false blanket of approval obtained by claiming the anointing gives one the ability to exclude truth from their faith without anyone detecting that.

No one seems to notice or to care that the mouth spews out what is in the soul rather than draw upon the foundation of truth. The anointing does not work with the imagination or with the truths of man’s nature. The anointing works with the one foundation of truth to confirm Jesus Christ.

The spiritual formula is: TRUTH = ANOINTING = DISCERNMENT

The anointing is not the liberty to express what we imagine, which is unsanctified and lascivious. False ministers today are as Korah. Korah desired to move like Moses did. He desired the position of leadership and authority, but the gift was not given to him. It was given to Moses. Korah thought that because the Levitical priesthood was given to his tribe and since he was a leader of his tribe, that they could take the stewardship as well.

Korah had a counsel of advisers who kept cheering him on to oppose Moses, but God resisted Korah and his counselors. We see God again resisting the Korah’s of today. When your calling is by the counsel of men it stands outside the counsel of God. This is why God makes distinction by the rod, which is the true authority.

The Anointing is Connected to the Godhead

The anointing is connected to the Godhead. I explain that in detail in the recording as that is the key to your understanding the anointing properly. You cannot see God apart from the anointing. So, we’ll talk about the anointing in two ways: (1) as it applies to the gifts of the Spirit (2) as it applies to charity.

THE ANOINTING AND THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT: Believers are used to hearing the word anointing associated with the gifts of the Spirit. But it is possible to work miracles, signs, and wonders and to operate in the gifts of the Spirit apart from the anointing.

Listen to Jesus’ rebuke to those who claimed His name, authority, and blessing based on signs and gifts. Jesus said to them, “Depart from Me, you that work iniquity.”

This clear denial of their claims to Him was in direct opposition to their imagination about the anointing. They pleaded with Jesus saying, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” (Matthew 7:22-23)

When the anointing is placed in outward signs (wonderful works), a person follows the sign of a miracle or healing or social reform rather than the sign of Christ in His covenant.

Did you know that God operates in His gifts across denominational lines? Catholics claim to move in spiritual realms, testify of healings and mighty answers to prayer. Baptists also claim the same. Methodists and Evangelicals, Charismatics and Pentecostals – all lay claim to having experienced the voice of God, prophecy, healing, divine intervention, dreams, visions, etc.  This is God’s compassion.

God wills that all be saved and leaves a testimony of His goodness in each act of compassion. But His mercy is shown towards those in covenant.

THE ANOINTING AND CHARITY: Anyone and everyone claims authority based on a healing or divine intervention they experienced (God’s compassion). They answer, “I must be in the truth because God did this for me.” These experiences of God’s compassion becomes the fables of the false religious system as they are used to support the record of man rather than the record of Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul, teaching by the Spirit brought this distinction between God’s compassion (for everyone) and His mercy (towards His children) in 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

As God wrestles from false ministers the false concept of the anointing He has at the same time restored to the church the true meaning and function of truth and charity and how these both work with the anointing to frame our experience in Christ. This is God’s mercy – His active involvement in your faith to form Christ in the heart.

The true anointing of God takes place when God takes ownership of your soul through the baptism of the Holy Spirit evidenced by tongues. Upon receiving that seal, the foundation of truth must be placed within the heart by instruction of living apostles. The anointing works with truth to confirm Christ through the due process of regeneration. This is true charity.

True charity reflects Jesus Christ in kind. It is the due process of regeneration, not the kindness of the moral code. Charity through regeneration verses the kindness of the moral code might not be something you can discern at the moment, but they represent two different kingdoms. At first the difference between them might seem like a small crack on the sidewalk, but in reality the gulf between these two opposing forces are as wide as the Grand Canyon.

Grace and Charity are the ways of the Lord to teach us the increase of the soul by the anointing that we might stand in favor of all that God sanctified by the blood of Jesus.

True harmony with God is by the anointing we are sealed by while the gifts becomes fables when separated from the Godhead to give witness to man’s endeavors, doctrines, philosophy, and struggle.

Dreams and What They Mean

Under the stewardship of the False Prophetic Movement believers were not given the foundation of truth and therefore did not have the one true scale of Christ from which to measure the will of God. Believers were taught how to turn on their intuitive voice, how to envision what God should do, and were given the moral code as a scale in place of the righteousness of Christ. The word anointing was used to excuse this misbehavior.

Ill equipped to discern truth from error, dreams and visions were used as a sign of God’s approval. Consider for a moment that both Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar were given dreams from God. The dreams did not sanctify them, but the stewards Joseph and Daniel were sanctified by God to direct faith to the covenant. The true anointing labors with the covenant. By the anointing we know Him, we see Him, we hear Him.

The Anointing Claimed Apart From the Godhead

When the anointing is claimed apart from the Godhead then false transformation is claimed by association, not by birthright. What I’m talking about here is how ministers verbalize the void in their faith and then promote their vision (backed by appropriate scripture) to fill that void.

To those under Satan’s spell, this projection appears as truth because the desire to obtain it is pursued in sincerity. But the anointing births the reality which these covet after.

The true anointing is where the Comforter empowers growth and unfolds Christ within the frame of truth. He makes distinction for clarity while the spirit of this world desires to erase distinction to confound truth. Drawing from various sources to arrive at an agreeable token of truth (truths).

In the absence of the anointing you’ll see many “transparency” protocols developed from the record of moral code as a check and balance system and using Bible verses to shield their root motives with fair words. This is another attempt of man to fill the many voids left by the absence of grace and truth. But the true anointing doesn’t work with the nature of man and doesn’t conform to this system to cover up man’s nakedness with his own flesh.

True transparency is the eye of the anointing. For the heart does manifest the source it feeds upon.
