Suffering for God and Christian Response to Suffering

Train to Win the Victory in Christ

Lesson 5 of 7

The Bible has a lot to say about God’s plan for you to overcome yourself, the world, and the devil. You have to train to win the victory in Christ. Every soul must be tested for reward, “Whether they love Me, or abhor Me, whether they pursue righteousness, or pursue Satan's counsel.” Every soul that is born must be tried for reward.

God puts His plan into action every day to give you opportunities to overcome these 3 things: to overcome yourself, to overcome the world, and to overcome the devil. Let’s get right down to it and find out what this means and how it works.

To overcome yourself means to overcome the 18 inclinations of man and the natural appetite of the 5 facets of the flesh and the desire of the aspiration to find a Christ-likeness in the flesh. You are overcoming the deep seated thinking patterns the devil uses to bring you into bondage. The hardest thing is to overcome is yourself because we are our own worst enemy.

Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

To overcome the world means to overcome the opportunities the Deceiver offers you to gain the flattery of the world that feeds and strengthens the Jezebel yoke[1]

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

To overcome the devil means that you must overcome Satan’s perception and his counterfeits Jesus Christ. You’re going to overcome the devil by gaining knowledge on how the true gospel works so that you are empowered by knowledge and the Spirit of God to focus your attention upon Christ and His tools.

2 Corinthians 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

It’s important to keep in mind that you are not overcoming adverse circumstances. You’ll have to remind yourself of this often and it may be helpful to write yourself a note every morning and stick it on the mirror: “The circumstance need not be overcome, it is the thought pattern that arises with each circumstance that I am overcoming.”

You are overcoming Satan’s wiles and deception. He intends to counterfeit Jesus in every way to deceive you, give you false promises, and mislead you by helping you put confidence in the wrong thing, and then to crush your hopes when your expectations do not ripen.

The Counterfeit Jesus

The devil works to counterfeit Jesus at every step. Let’s read from Galatians chapter 1 verses 6-7.

Galatians 1:6-7
6  I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel (Jesus).

7  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert (counterfeit) the gospel of Christ.

You will never be able to spot the counterfeit until you gain experience with the real thing. This is why it is so important to learn the 12 essential Elements of the Gospel[2]: (1) Grace, (2) Faith, (3) Righteousness, (4) Justification, (5) Sanctification, (6) Holiness, (7) Peace, (8) Rest, (9) Charity, (10) Truth, (11) Regeneration, and (12) Renewing of the Mind. Your faith has to start with the language of God (as the elements are commonly used) before the counterfeit can be detected.

To understand better the importance of  the Elements of the Gospel (12 Foundation Stones), and how God uses them, it helps to think of them as God’s paint palette. If we were to “paint” a portrait Jesus upon a canvas to see what He “looks” like, we would use these 12 essential elements as our paints. The image of Christ emerges through each element. I am speaking of seeing Jesus by the spiritual eye, not the natural eye, for the scriptures say that we know Him no longer after the flesh (2 Corinthians 5:16).

As you experience your daily grown cycles you will experience over and over again how persistent the Deceiver is to work to get you to misrepresent God (counterfeit Jesus). The twist in thinking is very subtle because the spirit of this world does not want you to detect his presence in your thoughts.

The Deceiver’s Arrows: Pick up on the Challenge

When the Deceiver shoots his arrows to challenge your faith he is challenging Jesus anew. As stated in the previous lesson, your first step is to discern the challenge is to reflect on the true record and pattern of our faith in Jesus Christ. I want you to also begin to pray in tongues when you pick up on a challenge. You can do this silently if you are in a place where there are a lot of people.

The second you begin to reflect and pray in tongues your faith is activated, which in turn activates your armour. Your spiritual armour is your protection against the arrows of Satan. Picture in your mind full body armour rapidly encasing you. I saw this in a vision while working on this lesson as the Spirit of the Lord brought to mind the importance of activating faith with the tools of Jesus Christ. Your body armour is the spiritual tools of Jesus’ covenant. Your reflection works with each of His tools to activate your armour and will protect you from all threats.

Now that it's understood how you are to respond to the devil’s challenge to your faith, let’s look at how this protection works. When you reflect on Jesus’ work in each element, God safeguards your faith from the counterfeit Jesus. It’s wonderful to see this in action. When your faith moves into resistance, God is giving you a learning setting specifically designed for you. All you need do is begin to reflect on the true pattern and record of Christ and the counterfeit is made clear. We will get into more detail and further training about what reflection is and how to do it in another course.

Right now I want you to get that faith is all about reflecting and reflection is all about reciprocating the image of Christ by focusing on His knowledge. Satan will work to counterfeit Jesus by replacing Jesus with the flesh, thus forcing faith to focus on the flesh to reciprocate the flesh, which is not the likeness of Christ and will not please God. So, each cycle of growth is God’s opportunity to teach you how to identify the flesh to set it aside.

Below is an exercise that will help you see how God safeguards our faith from the counterfeit Jesus. I’m going to go through the 12 essential Elements of the Gospel one at a time and start each example with a reminder that God protects you as you reflect on the true pattern of faith in Jesus Christ.

Truth, like armour, will protect you only as you put it on and use it. Can you imagine what happens to a person who is led to believe that faith does not need to work? Your mind is always working. If your mind is not working, you are dead. God gives your mind knowledge to labor with to reflect His Son in you. It is really just that simple.

As you reflect on Christ in His truth you are putting Him on so that He will represent you and mediate the covenant for you. The Deceiver wants you to put Christ off by focusing your faith on the flesh. This is why the devil will draw from the flesh to counterfeit Christ in each element. I want to show you how this happens. So, let’s start with Grace, the 1st element and work our way down to the 12th element, Renewing of the Mind.

1) Reflect on grace God is protecting you from the counterfeit grace, which is aspiration. Satan works to confuse these two voices so that you will put your trust and confidence in the flesh (the wrong voice). God uses your growth cycle to challenge this deception and make clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

When we talk about grace we are talking about how God communicates to us, sharing His thoughts, sharing His mind. When we say that God shares His “thoughts” with us, we would strip grace of its power if we stopped short and didn’t explain further. The flesh would take over to assume God’s thoughts. You might be thinking:
·         Oh, you mean God has good thoughts towards us and that He wants us to know that He loves us, or. . .
·         You mean that God shares His thoughts with us, that He wants to care for us and provide for us. (Do you see the natural rhythm that tends to take over?)

It is true that God has thoughts of love and care for us. However, we know that, that love and care is packaged in Jesus Christ. Jesus is God’s Care Package. When God shares His thoughts with us He is sharing His  perspective of Christ and purpose of life to stay in rhythm with Him.

Perspective is a very powerful word and I want you to hang onto it for a moment because it is this word that makes all the difference in the world. God shares His perspective to bring something different to our understanding and awareness.

Unfortunately, Satan tainted our understanding of God, life, purpose, faith, righteousness, and even our own self view. Satan shares his thoughts with us to bring something different to our understanding and awareness. The Deceiver does this to contradict God and that is why God refers to Satan’s perspective as the “LIE”.

For you to lose that perspective (which is harmful) your faith has to labor with God’s yoke of knowledge (the 12 Elements of the Gospel). It is the pattern for your rest. God wants to bring something different and valuable to your understanding and awareness and this is why He reveals Christ in each element. This is what He has purposed for you.

Each cycle of growth, as you yield to God, you’ll find yourself moving away from something (Satan’s perspective) and, more importantly, moving toward something else (God’s perspective).

Don’t stop there! God’s voice, the thoughts He communicates with us (grace) has an extraordinary affect upon the soul. God makes His power and presence known to help you identify His voice. These powers are the 9 operations of God in grace. The power of God is delivering you from the power of the deception. That’s salvation!

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding.” (Proverbs 14:33)

2) Reflect on faithGod is protecting you from the counterfeit faith, which is the drive of the God-Code responding to aspiration. This is the rhythm that naturally tends to occur that takes over faith. Satan works to confuse these two powers (faith and the God-Code) so that you will put your trust in the flesh.

God uses your cycles of growth to challenge this deception and habit of thinking because it is not the likeness of Christ and cannot be reciprocated to God in fellowship. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.
A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “Ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.” (Deuteronomy 32:3-4)

3) Reflect on Righteousness God is protecting you from the counterfeit righteousness, which is the measure of self. Satan works to confuse these two records: your signature (the record of your soul) and the record of Christ. This perspective of self that the Deceiver works into your thought patterns is not something easily understood. God uses your cycles of growth to challenge this deception and habit of thinking because it is not the likeness of Christ and cannot be reciprocated to God in fellowship. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” (Psalms 25:14)

4) Reflect on Justification God is protecting you from the counterfeit justification, which is a system of validation from self and others that leads to condemnation rather than liberty. Do you find yourself doubting God’s provision? That is because Satan testifies of the reality of his kingdom to diminish your confidence in God. Do you have trouble identifying who you are? This is because Satan has been busy all your life rewriting your history, which God condemns.

God uses your cycles of growth to challenge this deception and habit of thinking because it is not the likeness of Christ and cannot be reciprocated to God in fellowship. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.” (Psalms 25:10)

5) Reflect on SanctificationGod is protecting you from the counterfeit sanctification, which seeks God’s power and approval upon carnal works. There is a natural rhythm that tends to occur. Man seeks a higher power to connect himself to, to lift him out of this place and bring him back to the place he had with God in the garden. The Deceiver would have you lost, doing all kinds of spiritual warfare without the power of the Holy Spirit.

God uses each growth cycle to challenge this deception and habit of thinking because it is not the likeness of Christ and cannot be reciprocated to God in fellowship. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.” (Psalms 23:3)

6) Reflect on Holiness God is protecting you from the counterfeit holiness. The adversary works with your desire to lead a separated life and to be a good person. The problem is that the Deceiver uses the moral code to teach you how to measure a person’s moral character to testify of Christ. God doesn’t do that. God uses Jesus Christ as the measure.

If we allow the adversary to trick us into using the moral code to measure holiness, he is getting us to measure holiness to the flesh. Do you see that? That is his aim, to have you measure holiness by a standard that is less than God (unsanctified), a standard that keeps shifting and changing, leaving you feeling confused and condemned.

I often get asked, Teacher Maria, how can I know when that the moral code is stepping in? That is simple to discern. The moral code will challenge your emotions and question your motives to do right, to think right, and to act right. The moral code will do this in a way that it sounds like God is challenging you, but it is not God, it is the challenge of the moral code. For example:

1.      Let go and let God. This is a challenge from the moral code to your emotions. Many people in and out of religion experience this same challenge to let go emotionally. The Deceiver takes something that is common to man, gives it a scripture and it is believed to be God’s mind, His perspective.

God’s perspective on holiness needs to be taught, Satan’s perspective of holiness is the natural rhythm of the soul with its own design. Faith does not work by Satan’s perspective. Faith works with the knowledge and tools of Christ to confirm and reciprocate His likeness.

God rewards our faith with more grace, which is His power to give us His perspective that we then labor with to gain His understanding and awareness, equity, strength of will, which nourishes the soul. When all these things of Christ are skipped over, then the action is the moral code, not grace.

2.      Not my will, but yours be done. This is naturally quite a popular saying and you are no doubt very familiar with it. But, is this a moral decision that is being made because it sounds right or is this true faith that is being expressed? To the carnal ear this sounds like a good thing. The troubling issue that evoked the statement and undercurrent of emotions being addressed are common.

It is understood that “our will” can be selfish and ugly. But what are we talking about here,? We’re talking about human aspiration and principle that is used as a law to govern ourselves and others. Where is the power of grace that should be present to liberate the soul from these powers? Where is the law of grace that is the new governor of the soul?

The Deceiver wants your faith to come out of a Hallmark card; to sound pretty and satisfy an emotional need. When in covenant, your faith does not need to fit in that way. You know how aspiration (Jezebel Yoke) and principle (Athaliah Yoke) and imagination (Delilah Yoke) work with the moral code and it is through your cycles of growth that these are put off as Christ is put on. You are instructed how to do that.

The Deceiver may take you down a road called Event Theology where he will point out how Jesus said the same thing, Not My will, but yours be done; pointing out that you should do what Jesus did, and say the same thing. This is how false faith follows the event instead of following Jesus. To follow Jesus you need His knowledge, tools, priesthood, and growth cycles. That is the will of God. You simply cannot expect the results if you do not labor in your priesthood each day. Your understanding builds as you grow.

God will challenge this deception of the moral code because it is not the likeness of Christ and cannot be reciprocated to God in fellowship and therefore cannot please Him. Only Jesus Christ pleases God. This is why He testified, “This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:11) God makes clear these distinctions through each cycle of growth to safeguard your faith. You will learn to make clear choices between the moral code and true holiness.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:24)

7) Reflect on PeaceGod is protecting you from the counterfeit peace. The peace of this world is carefully packaged by the Deceiver in pretty boxes with pretty ribbons and bows. These are the comfort zones of the flesh, the validation we receive from the world through flattery, the zing of the God-Code that thrills us with new prospects, new horizons, and new levels. I want to point out something right here that is very important to God. Be very careful of ministers who talk about new levels. Most of the time, they are not talking about spiritual growth, they are offering the peace of the world.

Think about it. God gave us all 12 Elements of the Gospel to partake of Christ and express Him. He is busy every day creating in us the likeness of Christ. We have all the tools for our armour, we have the priesthood of Jesus Christ, we have the power of grace that God daily gives us. What I am pointing out here is that we already experience this powerhouse of faith in Jesus Christ. A “new level” (as it is often presented) does not fit into this picture. It is a comeback statement I want you to learn to recognize as the Deceiver’s voice so that you can avoid it.

I want you to also think about what you are learning concerning your cycles of growth in this course. All that is happening to you by God’s hand is not a “new level” it is a normal cycle of growth. You know what to expect in each movement of the cycle and you know what to do. It takes the mystery out of our faith. By saying that, I am not diminishing the awesomeness of God and the beauty of His holiness that He unfolds to us each day in Christ. “Mystery” It’s a polite way of saying “ignorance”.

Knowing how to go through your cycles of growth takes the ignorance out of faith. You are no longer ignorant of what is happening to you. This means your adversary, the devil, cannot create a mystery out of ignorance, which leaves you vulnerable to his lies. When in covenant with God your approach to faith is be with knowledge rather than ignorance; and that’s a good thing. This is the wisdom of God.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: " And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

8) Reflect on Rest God is protecting you from the counterfeit rest. Everything God gives us freely in Christ is a gift to save and heal the soul (to undo the damage inflicted by Satan). Faith requires us to engage with God in relationship for this healing to take place. This is why faith is said to “labor” with the things of Christ: “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” (Hebrews 4:11)

As we do this (labor to reflect upon the knowledge of Christ, pray in tongues, offer spiritual sacrifices of prophecy) God circumcises and cleanses the soul and we cease laboring with the knowledge that is harmful. This is the only way you will ever enter into the true rest of God.

The Deceiver counterfeits rest by having you place your trust in the flesh. To clarify this a bit let’s use an example we can relate to from weight lifting. Research shows that to develop size and strength in any particular muscle you need to devote your full attention to that specific muscle entirely in one workout. This is referred to as the “mind muscle connection”. The adversary of your soul is an expert at working the mind muscle connection, having you focus your full attention on the flesh when you are working your faith. When you think “faith” he wants your mind to go to the flesh.

Just like the peace of the world, the placebo rest works only as long as you keep the aspiration and imagination flexing their muscles. You are made to feel as if you have come into a new level or new place after fighting with the moral code for equity. God uses each growth cycle to challenge this deception and habit of thinking because it is not the likeness of Christ and cannot be reciprocated to God in fellowship. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: "For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.” (Nahum 1:13)

9) Reflect on Charity God is protecting you from the counterfeit charity. This is a big one, so I want you to get ready for it. Imagine, if you will, the Deceiver backing up his love truck into your driveway to deliver his special brand of charity. The devil is working the mind to flesh muscle big time when it comes to charity.

When the Deceiver “goes to town” driving the moral code with the charity that relates to the flesh you want to be able to defend yourself. So get into position because he is going to hit you from every angle. For example, Satan will have you believe that . .
1.      true love is all about sacrifice and then he’ll have you test both sides of that theory, or
2.      true love is unconditional and is unconditionally accepted and have you testing that theory, or
3.      true love is all about connecting, but he has you connecting with God with the wrong tools.

Before long, the Deceiver will have you living out your Christian life as if you are in some Soap Opera. I say this because the charity the devil sells is an exaggeration of the moral code. This comes out in your judging style and in your values, which are tied to the flesh, which seems so good, but is soooo wrong. God will use each cycle of growth to challenge this deception because it is not the likeness of Christ. We cannot fellowship with God on the grounds of the love that is born of the moral code. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

Man needs God’s love, which God makes available through Jesus Christ, which He calls charity, which we then experience when our faith is activated with His knowledge and tools. And just like faith remains consistent to Jesus Christ, charity also stays consistent. When you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you to make this mind priesthood connection each day (from Jesus to charity rather than from flesh to charity), your experience of the power of grace will remind you that God’s love is being expressed in very tangible ways.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: As we express charity, it is bringing unity and healing instead of envy, and strife, and bitterness, debate, deceit,  and sedition. The bond of charity is greater than the bond of iniquity. (Colossians 3:14)

10) Reflect on TruthGod is protecting you from the counterfeit truth. This is another heavy hitter. Satan works against God’s truth by presenting the record of your own soul as the predominant influence or power. The Deceiver knows that the soul needs knowledge (Proverbs 19:2, “That the soul be without knowledge, it is not good.”) The Deceiver squeezes knowledge out of the record of your own soul to make you walk like he does, independent of God, and to validate your own signature above Christ.

So you can understand that after a lifetime of experience with this deception, that there is a natural inclination to drift that way. We can further understand why God is going to want to challenge that mind flesh connection every day.

God will use each cycle of growth to challenge this deception because the truths of this world and the truths of our signature is not the truth of Jesus Christ. We cannot fellowship with God on the grounds of the truth that is born of our own soul. God makes clear these distinctions to safeguard your faith.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it.” (Proverbs 16:22)

11) Reflect on Regeneration God is protecting you from the counterfeit regeneration. In time, this will be as easy for you to spot as the stripes on a zebra. Ever since the fall of man, humanity has  expected new life to spring forth, to come into a place of rebirth, to reconnect with God. The Deceiver counterfeits Jesus by giving humanity lots of ways to bridge the feeling of loss because of separation from God. Like I said, this becomes very easy to spot once you are living faith to its fullest in Christ.

Our old friends, aspiration and imagination works with a set of rules (principles) that are supposed to feel like a breath of fresh air, delivering new hope, bringing faith to new heights. But the dragon’s foul breath can be detected as this old windbag challenges your faith on the grounds of your desire to reach for new life rather than on the grounds of Christ and His covenant.

God will use your cycles of growth to challenge this deception because the life of Christ should not be confused with the spark the God-Code generates when it comes in contact with the flesh. We cannot fellowship with God on the grounds of the God-Code and flesh and call that life giving.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3)

12) Reflect on Renewing of the Mind God is protecting you from the counterfeit renewing of the mind. Once the Deceiver has gotten faith all hooked up to the flesh and all the Elements of the Gospel are expressing the flesh, this experience is brought home to the mind. The mind advances with the wrong experience.

God created man to fellowship with Him to advance and gain experience with His knowledge. If you build on the wrong knowledge you will end up building on the wrong experience. We are to rehearse God’s testimony for faith, yet the devil would have us rehearse his testimony for faith. We cannot serve two masters. God gives us truth to see Jesus Clearly and to empower us to step away from Satan’s lie.

Why do I call Satan’s perception a lie? The inclination of man it to believe Satan’s perspective. If you don't believe the perspective of the person then they have no power over you. Each cycle of growth is an opportunity for God to show you the truth of Jesus Christ. Through your obedience you experience again and again that the testimony of the God is greater than the testimony of Satan.

A testimony is born from each growth cycle: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

Step Away From the Lie

There are lots of ways the Bible talks about this “stepping away” from Satan’s lie. Paul called it the circumcision of the Spirit. We can understand that we need the power of God to remove the Deceiver’s way of thinking from our thinking processes. The Enemy’s mental clutter is only a  distraction to faith.

Apostle Paul this spiritual circumcision by the hand of God. He wrote, “But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.” (Romans 2:29)

Paul also taught about the need to put off the “old man”. He wrote, “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.” (Colossians 3:9) God desires to continue to minister to us life, and that is what we experience at the completion of each cycle of growth. Satan’s desire is to minister death, which was our experience before covenant. It is death that we are putting off as we put on Christ.

God allows Satan to make his challenge to your faith in order to teach you how to discern his voice by his perspective. Satan’s mindset is death. It is absent of life. Therefore, when his perspective is believed, it does not leave you strong, it leaves you weak. Satan wants to share his assumptions about God with you and it brings something different to our understanding that God’s knowledge does not. God needs to challenge that perspective to give you the opportunity to cast it down.

Resist Satan by Choosing to use the Tools of Your Faith

What I want you to learn to do is resist Satan by choosing to use the tools of your faith in full confidence of God’s involvement and reward. You’re rehearsing the knowledge of Christ for your faith; you’re bringing Christ to your mind and the Spirit is confirming Him. All doubt dissolves when faith embraces Christ. Apostle James experienced this and therefore wrote, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

Jesus Christ is the token for your faith to rehearse Him and then express Him. Faith uses the Token (Christ) to live by His inspiration. This form of submission is the means by which we resist the devil. Do you see that? The only way to resist the devil is to submit to God’s grace by using the tools of Christ. This is why Paul admonishes us to be strong in the Lord. Be strong in His grace (Ephesians 6:10).

Your day-to-day experience of Christ and spiritual healing for the soul involves God needing to first break down Satan’s strongholds in the mind (to put the old man to death) in order to build you up in the likeness of Christ (the new creation by the work of the Spirit). Satan’s stronghold is in the perception of life and need, which is tethered to the flesh. God teaches us that Satan’s knowledge and tools bring death upon the soul. We need that kept before us so that we heed our Father’s commandment not to touch it.

When It’s Dead, Bury It

Every contradiction and paradox of life speaks of death, which is contrary to the promise of life. We will be touched by this contradiction every day. The contradiction manifests for our choices of faith to be manifest. This is God’s perspective that He wants us to carry in our minds. God is teaching us to find life in Christ, not in the world. The thoughts that are absent of life announce the presence of death which the righteous discern and bury. We are to put them (these thoughts, aspirations, and principles) away (Ephesians 4:31).

We know what the Bible says that Jesus conquered death and that our faith is victorious in Him. That is what the Bible says because it is a statement of God’s will for us. But your faith needs tools for this to become a reality for you.

Ask Yourself:  How do I Respond to Troubling Thoughts?

  1. Do I allow God to protect me  from the counterfeit holiness or do I allow the moral code to challenge my emotions and question my motives?
  2. Do I accept God’s perspective and purpose of life to stay in rhythm with Him or do I accept the adversary’s mind muscle (flesh) connection?
  3. Can I recognize comeback statements like “new levels” as part of the Deceiver’s counterfeit peace?
  4. Do I discern the thoughts that are absent of life and bury them?

Never forget: As you grow in the grace of God you’ll become more aware of the revelation of Christ, Satan’s resistance, your choices of faith, and God’s rewards. However, it is not necessary to "micro-manage" your growth cycles, for that is much like trying to "watch the grass grow." But, you will be able to observe how God settles your soul in His peace, builds up your faith, and comforts your heart, and you’ll be able to define and observe the impact of God’s grace upon your soul. Why is that important? Your trust and confidence in God grow with each cycle. Your strength of faith increases as well as your endurance, longsuffering, and long discernment.
